Hope & Main is a nonprofit organization leading the New England region in food business incubation. Starting in 2014 with the opening of RI’s first shared-use commercial culinary facility, more than 450 brands have launched with support from Hope & Main. As the first brick-and-mortar space for the food entrepreneurship program, the Downtown Makers Marketplace is home to Rhode Island-based small food businesses that are working to test concepts, scale-up their operations, and develop strong foundations from which to grow.
What’s your drink of choice? If you ask us, there’s no better feeling than knowing you don’t need to put on a coat to grab your morning coffee when traveling. Order online and make your way down to Hope & Main to choose from a growing list of premium loose leaf teas by Schasteâ, meticulously sourced from all corners of the globe and handcrafted in Rhode Island, as well as expertly made lattes, local drip coffee, and more!
Fresh classic breakfast sandwiches (with a dash of Orisirisi flavorful gourmet pepper sauce), hearty hashes (with yummy La Arepa Black Beans), and sandwiches (decked out on Buns Bakery rolls) round out the menu at the Café, where ingredients from Rhode Island makers are highlighted. With classic breakfast sandwiches, simmering soups, counter and window seating, the Café is sure to carve out a space for casual dining in downtown Providence. Guests of The Beatrice are invited to order online and saunter downstairs when their order’s up.
The shelves are stocked with our makers’ goods—from fresh salsas and hummus to artisan teas and so much more. Even the handmade pottery and gifts are locally made by makers who have incubated their ideas through the Hope & Main program. Stock up on locally-made goods, or find a handmade gift to take home.
